Two sisters in Washington state were so badly sunburned at school that their mother had to bring them to an area hospital. The teachers weren’t allowed to apply sunscreen, as policy dictates that students can only apply it if they have a doctor’s note. The district has now apologized and says that policy revisions are underway.
