WSFA 12 News was on the scene of a late night fire in east Montgomery Wednesday night.

Flames could be seen shooting into the air high above Vaughn Meadows Apartments, located on Vaughn Road near the Eastern Boulevard.

Multiple units of the Montgomery fire department were battling the large blaze. It appeared as though the fire started in one apartment, but spread throughout an entire building.

Early reports indicated all of the residents had been safely evacuated and no one was injured. The damage, however, appears to be severe.
