#NBA Jeremy Lin Out For Game 5 TomorrowFILED UNDER: SPORTS

Posted by Unknown on 10:53 PM

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Jeremy Lin will not play in Game 5 of the team’s series against the Miami Heat.

“He’s out,” Woodson said on Tuesday. “Speaking with medical, Jeremy will not play.”

Woodson said Lin’s left knee is not healthy enough to suit up on Wednesday in Miami and he is unlikely to play for the rest of the series, if it lasts beyond Wednesday.

The Heat lead the Knicks 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Lin’s return became a more pressing issue for the Knicks because they are without point guard Baron Davis, who suffered a severe right knee injury on Sunday in Game 4.

Lin underwent surgery to repair a tear in his left meniscus April 2. He was originally expected to miss six weeks, meaning the earliest he’d return would be the second round of the playoffs.

Early last week, though, Lin had held out hope of returning for Game 4. But his left knee hadn’t healed quickly enough for him to take the court. A day after scrimmaging for the first time last week, Lin complained of soreness in his knee. He’s been out since March 24 and began working out nine days ago.
