Rae Sremmurd Performs ‘Powerglide’ on ‘TRL’

Posted by Unknown on 7:30 PM

Fresh off the release of their triple album SR3MM, Rae Sremmurd slid by “TRL” to perform their hit single, “Powerglide.”

Although Juicy J wasn’t in the house for the performance, Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee handled it with energy and enthusiasm. Together, they jumped around the stage, which was also a giant LED screen.

With their money on monsoon, Jxm and Swae sat down for an interview with Sway Calloway. The duo threw money around the studio, while opening up about a slew of topics, including Beyoncé’s “Formation.”

They also spoke about their favorite songs from SR3MM, including “Rock N Roll Hall of Fame” and “Keep God First.” The latter was inspired by Kanye West’s “Jesus Walks,” but Swae Lee added a statement about his recent controversy: “Don’t let Donald Trump distract you from the fact that SremmLife 3 is out now.”

Later, the guys also addressed Zoë Kravitz’s guest appearance on Jxmtro’s “Anti-Social Smokers Club.” “She killed it,” said Swae. “She’s got bars,” added Jxm. “I told her the energy. I demonstrated the energy. Like, ‘You mean what you say, aggressive. Even though you’re a girl, you gotta say it and you gotta mean it.’ She did it.”

As the show continued, Jxm and Swae opened up about Pharrell’s mentorship and skills. “He knows what he’s doing and it don’t matter what track it is, new school, old school, he’ll finesse it,” Lee said. “He’s like the third member.” “I think we need to be in Fashion Week,” Jxm added of his Pharrell collaboration, “Chanel.”
