Chance the Rapper Reveals ‘Amazing’ Collaborations with Childish Gambino

Posted by Unknown on 5:19 PM

Chance the Rapper and Donald Glover don’t have an EP just yet, but their existing collaborations are “amazing,” according to one half of the dynamic duo.

On Monday (March 5), the Chicago rapper made these revelations as part of Pitchfork’s “In Sight Out” series. “We perpetuated that [joint project] rumor for a long time without recording anything,” he said (via Complex). “We did link up in Atlanta and record some tracks and…they’re amazing.”

Whispers about their collaborative effort have been circulating since at least 2014, when Donald Glover tweeted: “Now that chance finally released his verse on ‘worst guys’, maybe he can hurry up and finish the rest of our EP. #hinthint.” The rumors popped back up in January 2017, when Chance posted a photo of the duo on Instagram.

In September, Gambino teased a “double mixtape” with Chance. By October, the twosome hit the studio with Lil Yachty and Quavo.

Elsewhere during the chat, Chano kept it mum about any potential Kanye West collaborations. “I don’t know what Kanye is going to do next,” he said. “I don’t think anyone knows what he is going to do next.” Later, he denied rumors of a “French Prince of Bel-Air” reboot: “I love Will Smith. I wouldn’t do that.”

Chance also opened up about a variety of topics, including freedom (“I see so much sexism and racism… I can’t call myself free unless black women are free”) and Chicago (“I’m gonna be in Chicago until the day I die”).

Chano is reportedly working on his debut album, which does not yet have an official timetable.
