Welp, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson been using Jedi mind tricks trying to pressure Carmelo Anthony into waiving his no-trade clause, but it appears his masterplan is backfiring.  It turns out Jackson’s tactics have only strengthened Anthony’s determination to remain with the franchise.

“[Jackson’s] underestimating ‘Melo’s willingness to stay,” a source familiar with Anthony’s thinking told The Vertical.  Anthony has privately told teammates, too: He refuses to let Jackson run him out of the Knicks.

Jackson contacted the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers trying to work out a deal but nothing materialized after only role players were offered back in return.  Jackson also spoke with journalists and expressed his issues with Anthony’s play on the court and his tendency to hold the ball too long.  Earlier this week, Jackson fired off another shot at Anthony, this time on Twitter.  Jackson praised an article that pointed out Anthony lacking the will to win like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant had.

Despite all that, Anthony is reportedly more determined than ever to remain with the team.  Phil Jackson is also determined to stay as the Knicks president.  Both guys have two years left on the contracts, but I doubt this can continue to go on for two more years.
