J. Cole Also Has Some Words For Wale (We Think) On ‘False Prophets’

Posted by Unknown on 1:47 PM

j-cole-waleThe first verse of the new J. Cole track ‘False Prophets’ is certainly about Kanye West.

And while Cole is definitely taking shots at ‘Ye’s girl, recent output, and tendency to call himself a genius, the bars come off as much as an artist giving another artist advice than they do a diss.

In the second verse of the song, Cole gives different advice to another rapper whom he doesn’t name.

I got a homie, he a rapper and he wanna win bad
He want the fame, the acclaim, the respect that’s been had
By all the legends, so every time I see him, he stressin’
Talkin’ ’bout, niggas don’t fuck with him, the shit is depressin’
And I know he so bitter he can’t see his own blessings
Goddamn, nigga, you too blind to see you got fans, nigga
And a platform to make a classic rap song

We’re pretty sure he’s talking about his close friend Wale.

The DMV spitter is famously sensitive, and will respond saltily to just about any slight or lack of a retweet.

Should Wale take his homie’s advice and see the big picture?
