Lauryn Hill Announces Acoustic Performance Series as she continues to keep her show on the road, this time for the USA. The six, (that’s right, only six) shows will take place in smaller venues such as the Howard Theater in Washington DC, Brooklyn’s Rough Trade and the legendary Blue Note jazz club in NYC’s West Village.
The eight–time Grammy winning artist will start the tour next month. Whether or not you’re one for acoustic shows, if you’re a Lauryn or Fugees fan then seeing her live is a definite must.

On Jimmy Fallon’s show he has a popular sketch called “Lip Sync Battle”. The sketch is apparently so popular and favorable that Spike TV has actually picked it up and is making it into a TV show. The show is set to air on April 2, 2015. Don’t worry if you totally have no idea what show we’re talking about we’ve included a hilarious episode from Jimmy Fallon’s show to give an idea. Basically it’s like karaoke but without actually singing and that awful sound of your voice. Say what? Iran Bans Rap Music as the ‘Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance’ announces an indefinite ban on Hip Hop concerts with some harsh political criticism.
A blow for anyone looking to go to a Hip Hop concert or any Hip Hop artists looking to do a show as Iran Bans Rap Music nationwide. The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Hussein Noosh-Abbadi is clinching an ongoing issue for the country by declining anymore rap concerts specifically from happening anywhere in the country–indefinitely. Saying overall, “this kind of Western music is a problem for our traditional music.”
Noosh-Abbadi adds to Iran Bans Rap Music by saying it “encourages wild behavior that could have a detrimental effect on society.” Where’s the love Noosh?
The present Hip Hop community in the country is asking the same as Iran Bans Rap Music directly affects them. (Imagine being an artist and not being able to do shows?). The underground Hip Hop scene in Iran is like so many other underground Hip Hop scenes around the world–deep. (We do this for the culture!). So the news of an indefinite ban hits the core for a lot of folks.
With the power of Hip Hop culture to transcend barriers it’s no surprise politicians and law enforcement act like this, but many choose to stifle its power for love, unity, and aspiration. After all, Hip Hop was created from people who had nothing and were expected to be nothing…here we are not even 50 years later at the helm of a billion dollar global industry and movements in every corner of the world. So an indefinite ban on the music–C’mon son!

Well, damn…Iran has put bans on certain music instruments, Twitter and Facebook before, this being the latest in the modern–traditional tug of war. Music acts previous to this announcement had to get an approval from the minister to do a show. Now it’s definitely a wrap :/

For some reason that scene seemed to resonate with viewers it went viral and became a hot topic. Kerry Washington and Viola Davis have both been very vocal about always having to play a “type” ghetto, nanny, sassy or the help. Shonda’s characters are smart;they are lawyers,doctors and work at the white house. There is another underling issue which is colorism. Why did the reporter address Viola’s dark skin and say that she is less classically beautiful? Colorism is real problem in the world people like Kelly Rowland Fantasia and Dawn Richard have all been vocal about the industry treating them different because they are darker skinned, Dawn Richard said in a interview that “it’s hard being a brown girl in the music industry”

While Azealia snatched the moment to say defiantly that his comments were, “the dumbest sh*t she ever heard,” she DID go into detail regarding her disgust and why. There is a thin line between fan and fanatic sometimes and I can pretty much guarantee this kid is going to hate himself later in life for getting this crazy tattoo. Twitter user @luvLAClippers went and got a tattoo of DeAndre Jordan’s face after he threw down that monster dunk over Brandon Knight a couple years ago. What is more odd is he chose to place the ink on his upper thigh/hip area. Ummm….very strange! The ink itself looks dope but this was truly an idea that will be regretted.

According to a report just a short time ago, the Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Jeff Green to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Tayshaun Prince and a first round pick. The deal is being finalized as of right now. This move makes the Grizzlies even more of a threat to win the west as they add a solid defender, but also a scorer who can create his own shot. Marreese Speights faced a scary scene earlier this week when he reportedly had a gun pulled out on him as multiple men tried to rob him for his jewelry. Coincidentally he had his worst game of the season the next day against the Oklahoma City Thunder, although his Warriors still won.

Early Monday morning, Speights reportedly had a gun pulled out him outside of a nightclub in San Francisco. Law enforcement sources told KTVU that Speights was at the Cellar Night Club when a convicted felon pulled a gun on him and tried to rob him in the parking lot.
A group of gang members reportedly tried to steal Speights’ gold chains, but the 27-year-old was able to get away. He was unharmed, and the alleged gunman — identified as 28-year-old Michael Lamont Jackson of San Francisco — was later arrested.

Miley Cyrus’ home has been burglarized for the third time in a little more than a year. The man accused of burglarizing her home pleads not guilty. Read more on the story after the jump!
A young 22-year old man, named Rusty Edward Sellner pleaded not guilty to breaking into the pop star’s home in Toluca Lake, California a couple weeks ago. Sellner stole a large amount of things that belonged to Miley and her brother. Another law enforcement says that the thief got Miley’s bank card. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Rusty Edward Sellner is now being charged with one felony count of first-degree residential burglary, receiving stolen property and grand theft. Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office did not say what was allegedly stolen.
This is not the first time Miley’s home has been robbed. In June, her house was burglarized by two thieves who also drove off in her Maserati Quattroporte with alot of her jewelry. The two were both convicted and arrested. On the day before her 21st birthday, in November 2013, another person broke into her home and stole $100 thousand worth of jewelry and also expensive bags. It is still unknown as if whether or not Miley was at home at the time of her third alleged home burglary on Dec. 16th but her Instagram shows that she was out town. On the day of the robbery, she shared a pic of herself with her followers picking up some “gas station swag” and she hashtagged another pic “#offthemap.” She was not present at her house when the other two break-ins occurred.
Sellner has two prior convictions in Ventura County for burglary and evading arrest. He is also facing a maximum sentence of seven years and eight months in prison if he is convicted on all charges in this case. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 20th.

Brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi charged the magazine and proceeded to gun down 12 hostages, including French police. A nearby kosher grocery store in eastern Paris was also a prison for hostages that included a man Amedy Coulibaly, 32, of African decent and his accomplice/girlfriend, Hayat Boumeddiene, 26, whom both were linked to the brothers.

French police and SWAT teams let off a series of explosions in order to gain access into the building where the terrorists continued to hold hostages. The Kouachi brothers exclaimed that they wanted to die as martyrs and that they did.
Coulibaly and his girlfriend, whom are being linked to the death of a French municipal policewoman on Thursday went into the kosher grocery store, and yelled, “You know who I am” before letting off some rounds. Police said some people have been injured at or around the kosher grocery store, although it is unclear if this was because of shots fired before the hostage-taking.
Mr. Coulibaly was convicted in December 2013 for plotting to help a convicted terrorist escape from prison, Paris prosecutors said.
The younger Kouachi brother, Cherif, was detained in May 2010 on suspicion that he had taken part in Mr. Coulibaly’s plot. But he was released later that year because prosecutors said they lacked evidence to keep him. Mr. Coulibaly was released from prison a few months ago.

Jury selection starts today in the murder trial of former New England Patriots star Aaron Hernandez and it is expected to last at least a week. Hernandez, 25, is charged with killing Odin Lloyd, a friend whose body was found in an industrial park in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, shot several times and discarded near a mound of construction waste. He allegedly killed him because he was hanging out with people Hernandez had problems with and it caused mistrust. Once jury selection is finished the trial itself will begin and it expected to last at least six weeks, in which Hernandez is facing life in prison if convicted.

Bill Cosby joked about his sexual assault allegations during his stand-up routine in Canada. The comedian has been under fire recently for sexually assaulting numerous women over the years. During his stand-up he shed light on the situation by poking fun at the allegations with the crowd. Find out what he said and read more on the story below!
In London, Ontario, Bill Cosby took the time to joke about the sexual assault allegations. In his stand-up routine, Cosby saw a woman leaving the front row and he asked her where she was going. She responded back to him by saying that she was leaving to go get a drink and she asked if he would like one.
Cosby replied to her and said, “I already have one,” as he pointed to a bottle of water that was next to him on stage. He then added, “You have to be careful about drinking around me.” The joke was followed by some gasps, claps and laughter from the crowd. But two men at the stand-up did not take the joke lightly. They were ejected from the show because one of them yelled, “We don’t love you, Bill!” Security tried to take them out of the venue but before they left the man continued to scream, You are a rapist. I’m being ejected because you are a rapist.” The crowd started to boo the man until Cosby asked for them to stop. Even after that Cosby seemed to have had a good show as the crowd cheered loudly and laughed during his entire two-hour routine. They also gave him a standing ovation.

JR Smith will eventually be happy the Knicks traded him to a much better team, but at the moment feelings are still a little hurt. I must admit though I am on his side with his comments about the organization as a whole.

He is 100% right about that! Owner James Dolan is such a weirdo that he takes things personally that players or personnel might step up and speak about. I mean have you looked around MSG at all this season? Isn’t it obvious there are multiple things wrong, yet nobody really wants to speak on it.
JR also had a problem with the triangle offense, which could be the main reason the trade was made because it was clear he just was not comprehending the offense.
“I mean, it’s just difficult learning a new system, a new way to play. The whole culture over there pretty much changed,” Smith said. “I mean, a lot of guys have certain routines when they get on the court, when they don’t get on the court, and all of that was so flip-flopped and it kind of caught everybody off guard.”
I just hope he will be happy in the long run because he was just going to waste a season if he stayed in New York.

Wu-Tang legend Ghostface Killah killed the stage right in front of national television audiences late last night with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. With the Brooklyn based soul band The Revelations Behind the Staten Island Rapper. Ghostface performed “Love Don’t Live Here No More” alongside the track’s featured songstress Kandace Springs. As powerful, soulful, and uniquely street as the track is, it’s only bettered by Springs’ live vocals and Ghostface’s showmanship.

For the billionth time in the past few months, reality TV star Kylie Kardashian has the internet going crazy from a selfie she posted. The recent fuss has been over whether or not the 17-year-old got lip injections but now, all the attention is focused on her chest. Kylie posted a photo onto her Instagram page showing off some SERIOUS cleavage. Rumors started to immediately fly with assumptions that she got a boob job to make her chest bigger. I am sure this was the scariest moment of Rob Konrad’s life but he was able to survive over 12 hours in the ocean and swim close to ten miles to safety. How his body didn’t give out during that time is amazing and hopefully his athletic background helped with that. Konrad was fishing by himself when he fell from his boat and his boat continued without him in the other direction.

According to multiple reports, Konrad, who was said to be fishing alone off the coast of South Florida, fell from his 36-foot boat, which had been operating on autopilot.
Petty Officer Mark Barney of U.S. Coast Guard told ABC News that Konrad was in the water for 10 to 12 hours.
Konrad played for the Dolphins from 1999 to 2004, starting 57 games while playing in 82. The former Syracuse player was released by Miami in March 2005.
Friends became concerned after he didn’t meet them for dinner, and the Coast Guard later sent a helicopter to look for him, according to The Associated Press.
Konrad was found on the beach by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office at 4:40 a.m. ET on Thursday morning after he contacted them.
Konrad was treated at a hospital for hypothermia symptoms and released. He reportedly declined to speak to local media about the event.

A tweet went out on January 9th at 2:23 AM saying that Kanye West will be releasing a song with Drake and The Weeknd. Instantaneously, the internet went into a frenzy after seeing what seemed to be conformation from Yeezy about this new song and super dope collaboration. Yes Knicks fans, it is this bad. It has BEEN this bad all season. It is so bad that people are paying ALOT of money to sit near the court at MSG just to cover their face with bags as a protest against this debacle of a season. Cameras caught five guys in the crowd last night as the Knicks hosted the Rockets, who halfway through the game looked much different because they had placed bags over their heads as they watched the Knicks lose their 14th game in a row. The images speak very strongly for themselves. Yes, there is some hope for next year with the Knicks having some money to burn and likely a very high draft pick, but at this rate it will be hard to finish this year with any sanity left.
