Rick Ross dropped Black Market yesterday and early projections is saying the album is not going to do so well. The album is projected to sell 50-55k first week, while underground rapper G-Eazy is set to double Ross’s numbers. Hit the jump for more.
This weeks projections has Coldplay’s new album debuting number one while Rick Ross number 3.
Coldplay (Parlophone) 150-170k albums, 160-180k SPS
G-Eazy (RCA) 95-110k, 115-130k
Rick Ross (Def Jam) 50-55k, 60-65k
Troye Sivan (Capitol) 45-50k, 50-55k
Bruce Springsteen (Columbia) 16-19k, 17-20k
Kid Cudi (Republic) 17-20k, 18-21k
This is bad news for the MMG camp. Other than Wale, each MMG rapper has been having a tough year. Meek Mill started the year great but after the Drake situation, this has been a year to forget for the Philly rapper.
Rick Ross has been constantly trolled by 50 Cent, had to calm down the situation between Meek and Wale, and now has to deal with his new album flopping. You know it’s bad when G-Eazy is projected to sell twice the amount of records. I didn’t even know he G-Eazy dropped an album.
On a side note, Kid Cudi is projected 17k. I don’t know if that’s good news or bad news for the Cleveland artist, as his new album been getting a lot of bad reviews.
