Peterson, who is currently suspended due to allegations pending from a child abuse incident, requested for Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer to read a motivational message he had for his teammates. Hit the jump for details.

Via Complex Sports:

On Sunday afternoon, a few minutes before the start of the Falcons/Vikings game, Peterson sent a motivational text message to Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and asked him to read it to the team. And while no one has specified what Peterson said within the text message, the Vikings responded to it by going out and beating the Falcons 41-28.

“One thing that I took away from that message was: ‘Play each down like it’s your last because you never know when it’s going to be your last opportunity,'” rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater said after the game. “Today, I think the guys got that message pretty well. We went out, we fought today, and it was just a great overall team effort.”
